Details
This 4″ x 2″ CC Apex ESD Rigid Caster (electrostatic dissipating) is made of the same ergonomic, noise reducing, and durability qualities as the original CC Apex, but with the added benefit of containing electrostatic dissipating properties throughout the wheel’s polyurethane tread. These wheels are ideal for clean room environments and other areas where electrostatic build up is an issue. CC Apex ESD is available in 2″ and 1-1/4″ wide.
Electrostatic dissipative material conducts electricity, with a surface resistivity of equal to or greater than 10^5 ohms, but less than 10^12 ohms.
This material is prescribed for discharge-safe areas because it allows static electricity to flow through the caster wheels and into conductive flooring.
It is highly recommended that all casters on a cart (or other fixture) in an electrostatic discharge-safe area are electrostatic dissipative, in order to strive for maximum contact with conductive flooring.
